The Senior Solar PV Sales Engineer plays a vital role in driving sales and business development in the solar energy industry. With extensive knowledge of solar PV systems and strong sales skills, they are responsible for identifying and targeting key clients, presenting solutions, and achieving sales targets. Responsibilities
Developing and implementing strategic sales plans to achieve business objectives.
Identifying and targeting key clients in the private and government sectors.
Presenting solar PV products and solutions to clients, including conducting technical demonstrations.
Building and maintaining relationships with customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Leading the sales team, providing guidance and support in achieving sales targets.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as engineering and finance, to develop comprehensive proposals and quotes.
Conducting site visits and evaluations to assess the feasibility of solar PV installations.
Keeping up to date with industry developments, policies, and regulations, and incorporating them into sales strategies.
Participating in industry events, conferences, and exhibitions to showcase the company's offerings.
Monitoring market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and stay competitive.
Providing technical expertise and guidance to customers regarding system design and performance.
Collaborating with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
Supporting the sales team in preparing and reviewing contracts, agreements, and proposals.
Mentoring and training junior sales engineers to enhance their knowledge and skills in solar PV sales.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field (a Master's degree may be preferred).
5+ years of experience in solar PV sales and business development.
Extensive knowledge and expertise in solar PV systems, including design, installation, and performance analysis.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and generating new business opportunities.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively present solutions to clients.
Strong technical background and understanding of solar PV technology, industry trends, and policies.
Familiarity with performance modeling software such as PVsyst and Helioscope.
Ability to lead and mentor a sales team.
