BLJ Worldwide is searching for a bilingual PR and Comms Account Director with relevant experience in the local or regional education sector to join our Foundations and Education practice, working in a full-time, client-facing role with a prestigious educational entity.
About You
You will have over 10 years of senior-level experience in a similar in-house or agency role, with excellent media contacts and a strong portfolio of crafting and implementing long-term communications strategies to shape reputation and enhance brand visibility.
Have a proven track record of developing and delivering successful national and international communications campaigns.
Hands-on experience in formulating and executing crisis communications strategies. An added advantage would be experience in providing training courses and simulations for crisis communications.
Hold a bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, journalism, international relations, political science, or related disciplines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability, and exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent planning and implementation capabilities, with strong organisation, writing, presentation, and project management skills, including the ability to develop standard processes, deploy systems, and chart workflows and processes.
English and Arabic language skills are essential. This is a bilingual position. We will test your competency in English and Arabic.
In this role you will:
Strategically plan and execute a long-term communications and PR strategy for the client.
Execute communications and PR activities in a timely, efficient, and high-quality manner with minimal direction from supervisors. Areas of responsibility include media relations, internal communications, crisis communications, and social media.
Effectively lead and manage the BLJ team assigned to the client, skillfully briefing tasks, providing feedback and managing workflows to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of tasks.
Have excellent knowledge of monitoring and research tools, and the ability to critically analyze findings and provide recommendations to clients.
Create research briefings on specific topic areas and issues of importance to clients.
Provide recommendations to the client proactively based on a strong understanding of their objectives and needs.
Support and lead narrative development and messaging workshops.
Develop press material of the highest quality, adhering to client brand guidelines and adjusting content to match the client’s preferred style.
Lead and participate in the development and execution of crisis-communication strategies, including developing a crisis communications guide and conducting crisis comms workshops.
Provide counsel and support to the client team, attend internal meetings to gain an understanding of key issues, and seek feedback from others on a regular basis.
Ensure satisfaction with BLJ’s services.
Support with out-of-hours requests as required to meet the client requirements.
