Assistant Project Control Engineer (Cost)
What you will be Doing:
Assist with the development and management of the cost control systems to provide project and company management with accurate financial information.
Assist with the preparation of monthly invoices to Clients in accordance with the Contract requirements.
Facilitate the development of the work breakdown structure (WBS), interfacing with Procurement, Engineering, and Finance Departments as needed.
Perform some independent analysis of data stored in the project management and cost control systems. Creates presentations using graphs, diagrams, and other exhibits to illustrate cost status.
Assist with updating the system with cost forecasts.
Planning And Scheduling
Implement and maintains Project Planning and Scheduling.
Understand and applies engineering, procurement, and construction terminology, concepts, and relationships.
Develop and maintains less complex critical path logic networks and bar charts utilizing this information.
Analyze, evaluates, and forecasts current status against an established baseline schedule.
Assess the impact(s) of design or construction changes and schedule slippages.
Ability to support in generating graphical and tabular reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Report schedule status to all levels of project and Company management as well as to the Client.
Earned Value
Implement and maintains an Earned Value Management System on the project.
Analyze cost and schedule performance indicators (CPI and SPI).
Prepare and maintains project forecasts and status updates.
Provide assessment with corrective action recommendations to management.
What Required Skills You Will Bring
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, business or related field
Minimum 5 years experience in cost control and planning on engineering projects
Requires basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related field
Understanding of Project Control principles for major programmes
Proficient PC skills including a working knowledge of various Project Controls software, Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of PowerBI
Seeks to improve and expand technical knowledge where appropriate
Good communication and presentation skills
Understanding of the importance of timely reporting and the energy to deliver against demanding deadlines
