Scopely is looking for a talented and experienced Technical Animator to join our team based from the UK, Ireland, Portugal or Spain on a remote or hybrid basis!

What You’ll Do
As a technical member of the art team you will be influential in helping to define the pipelines and tools that we will use for the project. You will work in a collaborative environment to create and iterate on bringing our wide range of characters to life. The ideal candidate will have a portfolio displaying a high level of ability in rigging and skinning. We welcome applicants of all experience levels to apply.
Define a strategic character rigging & animation vision for a wide range of characters
Create rigs for characters, creatures, weapons, vehicles and props and maintain them throughout the production
Implement animations into engine with full ownership of your work
Ability to support many stages of animation development, from pre-production to final
Develop tools for artists and animators to help improve the animation Pipeline using scripting languages MEL/ Python
Will set up runtime animation systems/graphs in-engine
Developing a pipeline that achieves high visual quality while considering optimization and performance strategies
You will be the communication conduit between programming and art disciplines
Analyse and troubleshoot all aspects of the animation pipeline
What We’re Looking For
Experience at least 1 complete development cycle of a published game title as a Technical Artist/Animator in the games industry
A strong portfolio demonstrating your animation rigs and rigging tool development for games
Expert knowledge of Maya or equivalent, specialising in rigging/skinning
In-depth experience working with animation graphs and state machines
Experienced and knowledgeable of Character deformation techniques and dynamics, be it cloth, bones or blend shapes
Experience and proficiency working with Game Engines. (ie. Unity or Unreal)
A good understanding of Game Animation Pipelines, current technologies and platform limitations
Strong Creative and technical problem-solving skills
Superior communication, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
Positive attitude and an ability to receive and provide objective feedback

Experienced working with an IP
Experience with fighting/combat system development
Experience with programming and scripting language. (C# or C++)
