Required jobs in Middle East International School and their details:
Special Education Teacher
The Special Educator is responsible for creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans to
accommodate and modify grade-level outcomes for students who have identified learning difficulties.
This role requires a deep understanding of various learning needs and the ability to adapt teaching
methods, instructional strategies, and assessments to ensure the students in the SEN Department are
receiving the prescribed support to meet their individual learning needs. The Special Educator
collaborates closely with the Special Education Coordinator, classroom teachers, and other relevant
stakeholders to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment. This position reports to the
Special Education Coordinator, who in turn reports to the Elementary Principal.
Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with teachers and specialists to gather information on students’ individual learning
need and consequently develop tailored learning plans
2. Identify appropriate curricular accommodations and modifications to align with students’ learning
profiles and ensure access to grade-level curriculum
3. Design and deliver specialized instruction to address various learning difficulties and student
needs including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and language processing
disorders
4. Create and adapt instructional materials including texts, worksheets, and technology-based
resources to support diverse learning styles
5. Provide direct and small-group instruction to students focusing on skill development and
remediation when necessary
6. Monitor student progress through ongoing assessment and adjust instructional strategies as
needed to ensure individual learning goals are met
7. Collaborate with classroom teachers to co-teach, co-plan lessons, and co-assess student
performance to promote inclusive practices
8. Attend and contribute to Individualized Education Plan meetings to ensure that student learning is
aligned with their unique needs
9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, accommodations and modifications
in compliance with school and Ministry requirements
10. Provide support to classroom teachers regarding best practices in inclusive education and
differentiated instruction
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or related field
• Strong understanding of various learning difficulties and strategies for differentiation
• Experience in creating and implementing individualized education plans
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Fluency in Arabic and English is a requirement
