Responsible for all pre and post-contract matters to ensure compliance with company policy and protect the company's interests.
Key Accountabilities
Contract Management
- Maintain and update all master agreement templates to ensure robustness.
- Draft appropriate contracts and amendments for new and existing clients using standard templates.
- Track, maintain, and report the status of contracts, including renewals and those in negotiation.
- Scrutinize, critically review, and interpret contract provisions and terms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and standards.
- Review potential/suggested contract changes with the Contracts Manager and effectively communicate them to legal, finance, and other impacted managers on a timely basis.
- Recognize unique contract requirements, characteristics, and issues as they arise, and proactively keep the head of Contract Administration and appropriate managers/team informed.
Dispute Resolution
- Evaluate claims received from contractors or consultants in a timely manner to mitigate claims and disputes.
Contract Administration Practices
- Follow contract administration practices and office procedures and formulate appropriate improvements.
General Responsibilities in Quality, Environmental & Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems
QHSE Awareness
- Aware of the QHSE Management System.
- Understand the importance of conformance to the QHSE policy and procedures and to the requirements of the QHSE management system.
- Aware of customer requirements (where relevant).
- Aware of significant environmental aspects and occupational hazards/risks in this area of operation.
- Aware of potential or actual consequences of their work activities and deviations from specified operating procedures.
- Aware of current objectives and targets in this area and their current status.
- Aware of emergency preparedness and response.
- Aware of security requirements, sexual exploitation, and abuse or gender-based violence
Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Master’s degree holder preferable.
Experience
- 10 years of relevant experience, 5 years of which in a position involving management and supervision.
Behavioral Competencies
- Punctual, approachable, and able to take instructions.
- Capable of working unsupervised.
- Takes care and pride in their work.
- Articulate.
- A team player.
- Familiar with FIDIC forms of contract.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Computer literate: proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel is essential.
